Carol L. Bluestein: PHILOSOPHY

My Artistic Philosophical Mind Set

I have traveled many paths, some of my own choosing and some not, to understand my priorities in life and be true to them. Beside myself, my top priority is my family. My second is being in the moment, giving my full attention to whomever and whatever is in the present, and making the most of every day. Everything else is third.

Artistically, my philosophy is twofold: be in the moment to pay attention to and appreciate what is is, and pursue creative sparks with the belief that if one can conceive an idea, one can make it happen.

Although, for myself, quality and useability are not always in optimal proportions and its okay. I'm very much about the process. I like working through the puzzle that sends me down the road of artistic expression in a variety of media and its array of subsets within. Thematically, I am drawn to survival – the heroic efforts of living organisms that strive for well-being amidst inhospitable forces

I thrive in an open, honest, positive environment with contructive input and feedback, a variety of perspectives and supportive motivational energy – whether the mood is intense, serious or humorous. And, my nature is to generate, gravitate and support this creative state wherever I am.

My body of work, in terms of content, is a testament my view of the world at the time. It is my journey as I tried to make sense of a life as a widow and of life in general, as well as appreciate that lives are shaped by the choices made.
